Stories

In celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, Tina Firesheets, Sayaka Matsuoka, and Christie Soper, co-producers for the Pan-Asian Voices and Experiences (PAVE) of North Carolina storytelling initiative — with the help of many volunteer collaborators — are excited to present a fresh set of stories in our annual Heritage Month series.

These features, released weekly throughout the month, reveal what it’s like to be Asian American in the South.

Their perspectives will provide an insightful lens that is probably way more unique than you think. Meet innovative creatives, lifelong foodies, entrepreneurs, and a professor – all the interviews are authentic and fascinating.
